Merry Christmas, World!

Thanks for tuning in!  It gives me reason to share stories of Ireland and home….

Coloring the World

I love to see colors spread across this blog map.  Today they string all the way across.  They move left to right during the day–in direct relation to the sun.  I wish I got more colors south of the equator, but I’ve only been south of it three times myself, so perhaps that’s why. When Canada and Russia click onto the site, the map lights right up.

Interestingly, my stats always shoot up when I blog about Dave or the nephews.  I guess people like to see cute boys.  The minute I posted about Dave’s studio today, I got 17 views.

🙂

Corners of the Globe

Views so far today, November 30.

These little maps just blow my mind.  Can you believe that people in Lithuania, Hong Kong, and Holland visited this blog in the past two days?  And how did I get 32 visits from the UK today?

The Internet is amazing.  I hope I’ve passed on a bit of knowledge, inspiration, and cultural understanding.

Visitor Map

It’s always fun to see who is tuning in to Ireland by Chance.

Viewing my statistics map in WordPress helps me assess how well I’m doing my duty as a Fulbright scholar, which I view as helping build and share cultural understanding.

WordPress tracks the number of clicks onto the site shannonchance.net. It’s maps don’t include the people who have the blog delivered to their email boxes, however.

The past couple of weeks, I’ve had far more visitors from Ireland than from home.

Thanks TC, Laurie, and Sima for visiting so often from Germany, France, and UK!  I can thank Esther’s family and friends (like Heidi) for putting Switzerland high on the list, too.

To all of you I don’t know yet, I hope you enjoy your visits and that I’ll get to know you somehow, someday!

Visits to this site up until 10 November 2012.

Thanks to YOU!

Thanks for following this blog.  It’s great to know that people are interested in the stories!  It keeps me inspired to write.  I also appreciate your comments, email, and feedback….
